Trace Heating

FROST PROTECTION - Generic Scope of Works

Externally, frost protection circuits are to be fitted to prevent freezing in the event of temperature levels dropping. For the control of the frost protection we would incorporate a thermostat, which will be designed and set to activate the trace heating system when the ambient falls below 5oC.

A frost protection cable (see Tech Sub attachment) will be installed throughout the entire length of each individual system, as per manufacturer’s instructions, with an Air Stat installed to automatically activate the system when conditions approach freezing, specifically to the temperatures as stated above. The thermostat will also provide the means of connection of the mains power to complete the circuit, and a continuity test with certificate will be provided with the finished circuit.

HWS MAINTENANCE - Generic Scope of Works

For HWS maintenance pipework, a trace heating cable will be fitted to the HWS pipework to the specification detailed below. With regard to the control of the system, the trace heating cable will be permanently connected to the mains supply without any thermostat control, as the type of cable will be self-regulating and will not exceed the required maximum temperature of 55oC. As part of our system, a power junction box (no data sheet available) will be installed to complete the circuit, and a continuity test with certificate will be provided with the finished circuit.
